I watched the Odyssey in my local theatre. It wasn't IMAX and it was totally worth it. Before we dive into the movie, let's understand that the IMAX is simply a different format. For example, there is square format 1:1, 16:9 on YouTube and other variations. IMAX is vertically long format. However, because it's bigger, more information and quality can be captured. But that doesn't mean anything because if you shrink it - it will fit into any other format and you can get everything that was captured with black spaces. Even if you crop it, you don't lose anything because it was shot like that. Even Nolan knows that the IMAX theatres are limited and everyone will probably see the movie in their normal theatres or phones. So the movie despite being shot in IMAX is kept centrally focused so that no story is missed either way. Now, coming to the movie, I feel it's an alright movie.
